Project Doc: Documentary Project Brief

Here is the brief for my documentary project given by our Media Studies teacher, Mr. Nick. This blogpost is written by me (Audrey).

Creating an opening for a crime-documentary excites me because it's a new opportunity to explore the unique conventions and styles within the genre. I was also not familiar as I was just introduced to this genre because I was initially not into the crime subgenre nor documentaries. However, I will try my best to prepare and become more knowledgeable regarding this topic in order to maximise the grasp of my understandings to be able to implement it to my documentary project. I need to conduct a lot of research about this genre so that I can set myself up for good expectations of the results and achieve satisfactory level at the end. I am also excited to work as a group as it is my first time doing so for Media project. I have to be able to manage my time in order to get good results for this mini project before I prepare myself for the actual project (Component 3). There are many different requirements for the project this year as last year there were little preparations to do comparing to now. My teacher had informed that we will create a social media page to promote our documentary and to create a thumbnail for the project. This would be a way to challenge my capabilities especially in my creativity and technical skills to design and integrate technological applications. The critical reflection is also structured in the form of 600 words essay which worries me a lot since I am not that good in writing as I don't enjoy it. I hope that I can manage my challenges easily throughout this project-making process and collaborate well with my teammates.
